These activities can be modified and used to fit your class’ needs. Included with this presentation are class sight-reading activities that will require students to clap and count rhythms. The purpose of this presentation is to equip your learners with a strong understanding of basic notation and rhythms so that they can develop a strong foundation to build on as they progress as musicians. In addition, learners will be introduced to concepts such as notation placement on the staff, stem direction, and dotted rhythms. Through this easy-to-understand process, learners will be presented with the basic structure and function of key musical notation including the whole note, half note, quarter note, eighth note, and sixteenth note as well as their corresponding rests. Take Note introduces the learners to the fundamental building blocks of music rhythm and notation.
